| App Description: | The application ICT-AAC Memory belongs to a series of applications aimed to foster developing of the pre reading skills in a fun and attractive way. The application is developed for all preschoolers who show an interest in reading skills, but also for those who are still in the process of identifying and isolating an initial sounds of the words. The goal of the application is to choose two cards from a set of randomly distributed cards matched to a pre-selected criterion: pairing of two letters, pairing of an initial letter and appropriate symbol or pairing of two identical symbols. The application can be used by one or two players and the players have to agree who will play the first. When player selects one card, the symbol shows and it is followed by the appropriate sound (corresponding to the word). The text that corresponds to specified symbol can also be added. Lots of options for customizing the interface are offered in the settings. So, it is possible to adjust the display mode of symbols, i.e. cards. Cards can be opened with visible symbols or closed (turned the face down), so that the icons are hidden and need to be remembered. It is also possible to adjust the number of pairs that are used in the game for at least 2 up to 10 pairs. Furthermore, users can select the letters of the alphabet that will be used in the game, allowing for gradually overcoming pre-readings skills, starting from a small set of letters to complete the alphabet. Some additional options for customizing application are turning on or off pronunciation of the words (represented by symbols), background adjustment, controlling the type of letters in the written words (uppercase or lowercase) and selecting a wallpaper card. |
